Chris’s Background

Chris brings a rare combination of real-world leadership experience, calm presence and practical coaching support. As a former Army Officer and leadership coach, he understands pressure, preparation and performance from the inside out.

He knows that many capable people do not struggle because they lack ability. They struggle because high-pressure moments can make it difficult to think clearly, speak naturally and show what they are truly capable of. His work is about helping people close that gap in a grounded, practical and supportive way.

How Chris Works

Chris’s approach is practical, human and non-judgemental. He helps people step back, understand what is really going on, and then work on the challenge in front of them in a way that feels calm, clear and doable.

Practical

Chris does not leave people stuck in theory. He helps them prepare for real moments that matter, whether that is an interview, a presentation, an assessment centre or a first leadership challenge.

Personal

He creates space for people to talk honestly about what is going on underneath the surface, including nerves, self-doubt, imposter syndrome and the pressure to prove themselves.

Grounded

Chris combines coaching and mentoring, drawing on real-life experience as well as a wide range of coaching tools. His style is calm, realistic and supportive rather than performative or over-polished.

“You do not need to become someone else to perform well. You need the right support, the right preparation and the space to be yourself under pressure.”

What Sessions Feel Like

People often feel at ease quickly with Chris. That matters, because the work is often personal as well as practical. Many clients come to him when they feel under pressure, frustrated with themselves, or aware that they are not showing up as well as they know they could.

The first session is often about getting to know each other and understanding the bigger picture. From there, Chris draws on a wide range of coaching tools, practical exercises and real-life insight depending on the person, the problem and the outcome they want.

Who Chris Helps Best

Chris is especially well suited to thoughtful, capable people who do not want to shout the loudest in order to be noticed.

He works particularly well with graduates, early-career professionals and first-time leaders, often in their mid to late twenties, who want to feel more confident in interviews, presentations, assessment centres and high-pressure working environments while still being authentically themselves.

A Blend of Coaching and Mentoring

Chris’s work is not about sitting back and asking endless questions while someone leaves still unsure how to handle the thing they are actually worried about.

He believes in getting in the trenches with people, helping them practise, prepare, reflect and improve in a way that feels real. If someone is scared of a presentation, an interview or a difficult career moment, that is where the work begins.
